The Batman’s critically acclaimed launch has brought with it fresh interest in the Caped Crusader, and while he’s not the star of Gotham Knights, you’ll feel his presence in this long anticipated co-op spin-off. Announced eons ago, the title finally has a firm release date: prepare to suit up on PlayStation 5 and PS4 from 25th October, 2022.
Beyond the release date, there’s no extra information or trailers in this reveal – just an image of a clock tower, and the all-important date. The title had been due out in 2021, but was pushed back until 2022 for additional iteration and polish. But with the date now set, we should be seeing a lot more of this over the next six months or so.

A release date! Honestly this could be good fun, just need to see how similar it is to that rubbish Avengers game.
Really looking forward to this!
Niiiiiice, didn't expect it to be announced today.
@nessisonett It's probably closer to the Arkham games but with more RPG elements... or at least that's kinda what it looked like.
Awesome!! Can't wait to play as Nightwing.
But also... they'll delay Suicide Squad to 2023, won't they? Or did that already happen?
@Voltan It was strongly rumoured but not announced yet.
@get2sammyb That's what I thought, thanks.
Ah yes! Was hoping for a Summer release as the schedule is a bit barren but I've got more than enough to get me through till October.
That’s amazing ps4 still getting the new games. Good news!
This will definitely scratch my "Titans" itch.
Finally something to look forward to.
A pushback from 2021 to Q4 2022 is a helluva pushback.
Which is good, because I wasn't all that impressed with the extended gameplay demo they released ages ago. Hopefully they've spent some time improving this because I really wanna like it
Two weeks before Starfield! Still excited, looked good to me as long as they don’t make enemies damage sponges and make sure single player is great.
Finally, a new release date! Can't wait to team up with friends in this game.
Great to see a release date. As with all games focused on coop il be delving into solo play first lol
I recall when a lead dev for this was petitioning to cancel the game "6 days in Fallujah" not happy about it. Naturally, one person's opinion is not the same as the whole team but still, I'll buy it deep discount if at all... unless it comes to gamepass.
@themightyant oh yea starfield, i honestly forgot about that, i don't think it will release this year we havent seen any gameplay footage of it yet and havent heard anything since last year, hopefully it does release this year though.
This seemed ages away and then crept up and was delayed so much so I lost paying attention…
Do we know who is actually playable in this yet?
Edit -
Pure Xbox told me….
Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin…
Nice. This is day one then. Won’t even miss Batman As batgirl will have similar gadgets etc. this looks great.
This might sound sad but is it possible to play this in single-player? I love these games but don’t really like playing story-driven games with friends. I like to play solo and fully grasp the atmosphere, dialogue, and story.
@Daleaf That's pretty normal for Bethesda games. They generally show gameplay in the months before. So it is expected that Starfield will have a huge showcase at E3.
@DeathByLasagna According to the official site its either solo or 2p coop. Im also like you, I rather play these games alone. So Im happy it will playable alone. Really looking forward to this!
@DeathByLasagna I assumed so. Would be stupid if they don’t include that. Companies surely realise the market for solo players is still massive
@Lavalera Awesome! Thanks for the info!
@Lavalera yea that is true, hopefully they are just waiting till summer to do the big announcements. And it does release this year, but i just have a feeling its going to be pushed to next year hopefully im wrong though.
@Daleaf I'm quite confident Starfield will launch on 11/11/2022 as promised. The rumour is that it has been been fully playable for a while and the reason they were confident enough to give a fixed date over 15 months in advance. Microsoft apparently gave them the extra time to give the game extra polish compared to other Bethesda titles.
@Grimwood 1st good?
Strongly disagree
@PenguinL Isn't that Arkham City?
@RubyCarbuncle Yeah because no decent games have come out this year to date. At all. Finally, Gotham Knights
I'm looking forward to it tbf.
Holy cowl... like it
@PenguinL But imagine playing as Bruce is part pure business sim like, like playing football manger but controlling companies and assets, and the other part is Hitman like attending openings and parties.
@EverydayRobot Gotham doesn’t exactly conjure images of midsummer nights. Be great if they’re delaying release for a more suitable time of year
@SystemAddict By that logic would you have preferred if Horizon Forbidden West was delayed till the summer?
@EverydayRobot Horizon’s fine. Strikes me as an into the spring and beyond type of release
@SystemAddict
I did initially think with Resident Evil Village a winter release would benefit the atmosphere. However I feel games are just so immersive these days It doesn't matter when you play them. Dark room and headphones on and I am instantly transported to the time and place in the game. It's interesting to think if the season a game is released is something that game publishers take into consideration to add to the atmosphere.
@SystemAddict Also don't think they were too bothered about conjuring up images of midsummer nights when they released Arkham Knight in June 2015
Great to hear!!! This, God Of War and The Callisto Protocol are my top 3 games I'm most excited about in '22. Really looking forward to playing this with my son. Although, I strongly suspect with a release date that close to the end of the year, this may get pushed to '23. But I'm fine with that just as long as it releases in a solid and ready to play state, unlike most AAA games these days......
@EverydayRobot yeh probs not. Defo notes of summer fruits off horizon though
Gotta say, much as I love RockSteady’s Batman games I’m looking forward to this more than Suicide Squad.
Will probably get this one.
Gotham Knights has Forespoken.
Glad to see we finally have a solid release date! I just hope my fears of the game being co-op focused doesn't ruin the solo story mode.
